Sprout & Play

Facilitating inclusive play groups for children of all abilities to grow, interact, & support developmental needs.

Our approach

We are an occupational therapist and speech-language pathologist teaming up to provide quality social groups for children of all ages and abilities. Sprout & Play is designed to facilitate growth, learning through play, foster an environment for social interaction, and provide parent education to support development. Our play groups are an opportunity to seek advice, feedback, address concerns, and find connection and community in supporting your child’s developmental journey.

Why social groups

You don’t have to wait until your child starts school to work on developing social skills! There are limited resources for children to interact in an environment to support social skills and play with skilled instructors. At Sprout & Play, our goal is to provide affordable and accessible group sessions facilitated by skilled professionals to support your child’s social skills, growth, and development!

Why us?

Sara and Sierra are skilled and licensed pediatric therapists with experience in a variety of settings including outpatient, private practice and early intervention! We understand the limitations of traditional therapy services and want to offer more to the community and the children we service by allowing opportunities to practice skills in inclusive environments.

The Starfish story

“One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking up and gently throwing things into the ocean.

Approaching the boy he asked, “Young man, what are you doing?”

The boy replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll die.

The man laughed to himself and said, “Do you realize there are miles of miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t make any difference.”

After listening, the boy bent down to pick up anther starfish and threw it into the surf. Then he smiled at the man and said, “ I made a difference to that one”
